actually, i don't think this article mentions eminem. it's just his management companies. i'm not sure if that exactly includes em.

yea i think ur right. just his management deserves the money i guess

but em's the overall reason for why they deserve it *trying to not look as dumb*

I read this article yesterday along with a few others from various sources. One of the articles (I can't remember the source) said that it was the Bass Brothers and another label/management team that Eminem was signed too when he first started. If that's the case it might be that these old management companies are looking for their share of the digital royalties from Em's older work.

Let me see if I can find the article again . . .

Lawsuit Filed Against Aftermath/Interscope For Unpaid Eminem Royalties
Posted on Thursday, May 24, 2007 @ 9:43 AM CDT by admin

Aftermath Records and Interscope Records are being sued for digital royalties by two former parties that are stated to be associated with Eminem Recordings. The two management companies filed the lawsuit against the record label stating that Em2M and the Bass Brothers' FPT Productions which originally signed the rapper to its Web Entertainment label in 1995 did not receive a fair amount of the split royalties from Eminem's Internet downloads and ringtone sales under an agreement signed in 1998 that all parties agreed to.

The lawsuit, which was filed on Monday in the Los Angeles federal court, stated that all investing parties would receive 50 percent of the net receipts for the recording services which included electronic and digital services from all "other uses" such as downloads and master ringtones other than just for artist royalties.

The complaint alleges that an audit of defendants by FBT and Eminem revealed that FBT and Em2M were underpaid more than $650,000 dating from 2002-2005.
