Encore was not a flop, it was a huge hit. Just not as big a hit as his last two.

Inconsistency or diversity, that's really a matter of subjective interpretation, isn't it? I don't really think Em's inconsistent, and even at his worst he's better than most mc's - and I'm not really sure he's just trying to please all fans, I guess there are just many sides to him both personally and lyrically which all come out in his work. I absolutely agree that it would be boring if every song was totally serious and based on "dark," heavy beats, even though 'Till I collapse is one of my absolute favourites
