Eminem on Mandela guest list

Britain's Sun tabloid says Detroit rap star Eminem has confirmed his appearance at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party in London's Hyde Park on June 27.
Not exactly, says Dennis Dennehy, Interscope Records publicist. "He's been approached, but it's not confirmed."
Which would confirm the Brit tabs reputation for being notoriously -- how can we put it? -- inexact.
Who accomplished this? Queen guitarist Brian May.
According to the Sun, May "contacted Eminem's management on the off-chance and never expected him to go for it. It's going to be explosive stuff and it's certainly a big stage to make his comeback."
The enigmatic rapper is reported to be working on a new studio album for release later this year. If it's true, Em will join -- among others -- Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox, Razorlight and Keane and emcees Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith. (Will Smith and Eminem have jousted verbally in the past, making Em's reported appearance even more interesting.)
