'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' (originally titled "Män Som Hatar Kvinnor" = Swedish), is the first book in the Millennium series, written by the late Stieg Larsson.
The - three - books were first adopted to film here in Sweden, which was an instant success, both domestically & internationally. The Millennium series have sold some 50-60 million books over these past 5-8 years, which obviously lead to an interest in adopting the book(s) into larger movie-projects, which could reach out to more people, with bigger profits. 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' had a budget of $100.000.000 I believe.
