New TRShady Forum Layout Ideas

TRShady asked me to keep track of any layout ideas we have. I figured going through the site would be a messy task, so I thought a topic for our opinions and to link suggested layouts would be the best idea.

I realize that this is going to be a mash-up of ideas, but maybe the Mods could narrow it down between a few layouts based on this topic. Maybe then we can have a vote on those selected few. Keep in mind that TRShady himself wants to stay within PHPBB code.


As for my opinion...
I do think that this current layout should stick around as an option for those of you who do not want change, but I also think we should have a light and dark option as well. I suggest these two. Whoever likes light, can use light and those who like dark, can use dark. One single layout won't make everyone happy.

No, a lot of people wanted a new one. However, people weren't happy with the one TR picked. So he asked me to keep track of layout suggestions so that we could change it.

Keep the current (old) one. It functions fairly well, and after seeing the last one, I think it's the right decision to stay with this unless we migrate to vBulliten.

Actually, I think this one could be really nice too with some tweaking. Nothing too dark imo.

Oh. I'm happy the old one's back. I wasn't too fond of the new one. Maybe I'd be more open for change if the layout wasn't such a drastic change.

backgrounds can be changed. I'm talking about the layouts themselves.

vBulletin is a message board software, like phpBB (which this forum runs on). It generally seems to have more modern/clean looking layouts though.

Yeah, the only problem is cost. It's not really fair to expect TR to buy a new software when we already have one which works pretty good.

Oh ok. Yeah I was wondering if cost played a factor in not upgrading to vbulletin. But that's fine, I'd rather just stick with how things are now. I'm happy.

Another idea.. maybe we can just change colours and background of this one? Give it a new look, but without changing the actual layout itself?
