The TRshady.com Rewrite

[TRshady]

In between job-hunting, free lancing, living life and eating sandwiches, I've been working on re-writing TRshady.com in a completely new language - going from PHP to Ruby on Rails. This will mean nothing to most of you, but the result is future development of TRshady.com and current maintenance will be a hell of a lot easier. For most part, you'll notice little difference - but there are already a few new additions that may appeal to you... and here they are:

- new eminem lyrics section with better 'auto complete' and slick browsing of album lyrics: http://rails.trshady.com/eminem-lyrics

- new 'full eminem song list' which will soon become the definitive Eminem song list:

- updates videos section with the YouTube video included for each:

Over the weekend I shall announce it in the site news and get feedback from the community but I want to test issues such as site load and to get general feedback at this early stage. It'll be updated daily and I'll announce the updates here, over the next few days it should really come together.

Hopefully this shows that I've far from abandoned working on the site and as we gear up for Relapse 2, things are only gonna get better...

Should include the tinychat on the main page! Well, sort of.

And I think the site will load slower.

But it's good if it makes the site better!

Good look with the rewrite the front page could also do with a new theme, possibly match it in with the existing forums style

Many more of the sections are now working, I've also created a new banner and made other minor layout adjustments. Site should switch over to the new version by next weekend, but progress is coming along nicely. http://rails.trshady.com

My goal for today is to move the site over - so it should be live tonight.
That does mean everythings gonna break and there may be a few issues - but otherwise it'll be delayed forever and with relapse 2 on the way, it's a better time than ever to get things cracking.
