ok ive been makin them for two years now, basically there two different ways of building a site:

Code
Drop and drag

Code way of doing it is very complex and i would only suggest those comfortable with coding to even attempt

drop and drag is alot simpler method of building a site.

the best software i believe to do this if

Macromedia MX Studio which contains two important programs for webdesign:

Fireworks MX and Dreamweaver MX

Fireworks ,if doing drag and drop,is where u layout and build the components of the site. When happy the site is exported as slices but more importently as a HTML DOC

reason this is important cause now all you have to do is open this file in DREAMWEAVER MX

Dreamweaver is a complex but easy to use bit of kit.It will AUTO code your site for you and allows you to switch between the two.

Dreamweaver also has a incorparated FTP UPLOADER which is basically the kit that will upload your site onto your host.

^^^ This is sounds very hard but if i can do it ,be rest as sured a blind man whos death with no fingers could do it.

Best bit of advice would be:

1/ Read up on DREAMWEAVER MX and FIREWORKS MX
2/ try out some free host sites to mess aound within
3/ As with anything practice makes perfect

sorry for goin on so much :confusion:

true....but! and its a big but....u can get Higher standard finish to your site via drag and drop and really its not as hard as it sounds.....like i say with Dreamweaver mx it lets me combine code and drag and drop.....but if u ask round the pros will tell u for design and the ability to do more, drag and drop is the way to go...

a drag drop site i can do a page in about 3 hours

coded site itll take me bout 6 hours

can you tell which i prefer :shifty:

another good point:

i don't know anything about the drag and drop thing so i can't give you any links to tutorials but if you wanna learn how to code go to http://www.lissaexplains.com there are probably other better sites that teach you but that's where i learned
