ok i just got the iphone its the 1st gen with 2g and im just wondering is there a way i can make it a 3g?

Nope, you would have to buy an iPhone 3g, or iPhone 3gs, or iPhone 4.
The earlier models are not capable of 3g.
Sorry man, 3G is not all that great anyhow, very few spots where you get a strong signal.

Nope, you'll have to use Edge.. which is the little "E" by your signal bars.
Thats the fastest I believe.
