Postby Solace » Feb 7th, '09, 18:11

im trying to print a cover for a cd, 500x500 is the size right? Well whenver I print on lets say Windows Picture And Fax thing it resizes it so i cant, and also if i print on paint it for some reason resizes it. How can i print it without having it resized?

Actually disregard what I had said.

Look at the third post. It's pretty helpful. Basically going by pixels is bad because the size can very depending on the DPI (dots per inch) the printer is printing at. Instead resize the picture using centimeters using any program and print from there.

I dont really get what your saying in your post lol but as you said, the third post is pretty helpful. So what I did was change my picture to 300dpi while keeping the same size (500x500pixels), and when I went into Paint's Print Preview it was still the same.

Why must simple things be sooo complicated?

Try opening the picture up in photoshop or any other image editing program. Resize it, but instead of resizing it according to pixel size, choose centimeters and resize it according to the dimensions of a CD cover in centimeters. That should print out the right size. Hope that was more clear.

That was way more clear, im gunna try that later. I appreciate your help man,

edit: argh this is stressful. I changed it to 12x12 (=to 300x300 pixels) and on what hte original DPI was before (25). Then when i print previewed it was the same exact size. Okay will this work, I send you the picture, you resize it to whatever, and send it back for me to print?

yet another edit: acutally i think i got it now :) Ill try printing it tommorow, and if its not successful then I just dont really care lol. But im sure itll work :y: Thanks so freaking much BlaqReaper (seriosuly for a second i thought it was BlackRaper xD)

Peace :sweating:
