looks like some blend between a forum/chat fing and one of those voice programs like skype

if you know how to use the program you can download many great files my cousin also used this program and he always tells me it's the best program out there.....but ill stick with emule for downloading files.....

I use in primarily for downloading. However it was created to be somethign people could chat over like MSN or Yahoo. If you wanna download with it then go to this site : http://www.packetnews.com
Then type in what you want in the top search bar. Then it will take you to a screen with alot of stuff on it. Click the thing that is under where it says " pack " it should have #insertnumberhere then when you get into "channel" press ctrl and v.

Do it with IE because with other browsers it sometimes has trouble copying the pack info.

mIRC is great.
It's a nice chat client but better for some other things.
It's very fast, too. You can download with your maximum speed, if you have a fast bot.

It's the largest chat client. It's pretty easy to get hacked on there, (well it was 6 years ago) you can own chat rooms and boot people or upgrade or whatever. A lot of gaming communities use it to plan meetings or finding other people to play with. You can also transfer filrs to each other which created massive file sharing communities.
