Jack was in middle school when he met Anne
When he saw her he knew he was a dead man
She was so beautiful, athletic, vivacious, smart
But most of all she had the most gracious heart
When he felt down she always helped the best
To put a smile on his face when he felt depressed
Jack was still young but it was love at first sight
She thought he was nice but he wasn’t her type
She went for the older guys, tall and stunning
Jack couldn’t compete, it was all for nothing
They were together doin homework in the evenin
And they were both hangin out every weekend
Till he finally got the guts and gave the question
She said no way, you’ve became my best friend
It pissed him off but he wouldn’t dare to leave
Cause he needed her like he needed air to breath

(Chorus)

A few years later he was graspin at her heart
But it didn’t have as much passion as the start
It was routine now, just a part of their daily life
But Jack was walking alone in the rainy nights
Then he started lashing out and it cut her deep
They weren’t speaking like every other week
Jack sat home alone as she filled pain into him
While Ann was out partyin, gainin new friends
Jack focused on school, class as hard as it gets
Ann focused on friends, grades started to slip
Drinkin at parties getting trashed every night
She became too cool to have Jack in her life
She’s foolin around with any guy she meets
Now whenever Jack sees her he hides the grief
Her friendship to him was an unspoken solace
But all that was just another broken promise

(Chorus)

Now Jack just received his college diploma
Full of confidence he was no longer a loner
It was obvious he had made a life for himself
Since he had a masters degree right in his belt
At this point a couple more years had gone by
And since then all of his tears had long dried
A couple friends took him to celebrate at a bar
He walked right in and saw her face from a far
He walked over to her and asked for two beers
They began to catch up over the past few years
In college she got pregnant and had to drop out
Four months in he got scared and hopped out
She was alone and money was needed greatly
She got a job as a bartender to feed the baby
She saw how great he was and asked for a date
But Jack still remembered and laughed in her face. . .

Great storytelling piece, I could flow it pretty well to the beat. Especially the second and third verse flowed pretty good. Nice message, only thing I missed was a creative plot twist, something that would drop jaws to the floor. But that's me being an overachiever and I'm just nitpicking. Great job, you're planning on recording this?

Damn, that was great. I really enjoyed it, ending wasn't as great as I was expecting while reading, (I was actually very tense while reading the last paragraph) but I felt like it was what she deserved anyway. Anne's a bitch. Flow was great, rhymes were honestly not up to what you usually do but not in a bad way since this was focused on storytelling and less rhyming. Keep at it, I want more stories from you.

Flow was on point for most of it once I picked it up.

Rhymes, especially in the first verse, were way too obvious. I predicted pretty much the end of the next line every time. Also some forced rhymes but that maybe an accent thing.

Storytelling was pretty cool, bit of an anti-climax at the end for me though.

It was good, dont get me wrong, but nothing like some of your other stuff.

That was a great piece, I actually got attached emotionally with it. :y:

I was surprised at the ending because I thought it would be a corny love story/typical corny ending but that surprised me.

Record this?

Thanks man, the flow might seem choppy because I put less syllables in some lines where I need to take a quick breath in but when I rap it I can get it to sound pretty good. And yeah, the rhymes suck lol

I forgot to ask this before but should it be him grasping at her heart or her grasping at his heart? I couldn't decide.
