MTV announced that "Pimp My Ride" will be returning for a new season with a different garage this June.
As previously reported, West Coast Customs, which served as the home garage to "Pimp My Ride" since the show's inception, moved to Discovery Channel to work on a similar but currently unnamed series.
The fifth season of "Pimp My Ride" will be hosted by Xzibit and car enthusiast Mad Mike while the cars will be tricked out by San Fernando-based Galipin Auto Sports (G.A.S.).
Some of the season's highlights include a 1988 Cadillac Limo being hooked up with a 50" plasma screen movie theater, a white fur chaise lounge installed in a 1995 Mitsubishi Galant and a doomed 1976 ice cream truck updated with the latest modern technology.
To get viewers prepared for the new season, MTV will schedule two 4-hour blocks of "Pimp My Ride" episodes, each block airing on consecutive Sundays in June, for a total of 8 hours of programming.
The first block airs on June 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The second block airs on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In related news, Xzibit will be co-starring alongside wrestler/actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the sports drama "Gridiron Gang," due September 15.
The film will revolve around The Rock's character, a probation officer who assembles a football team of juvenile inmates to play against local high school teams. Xzibit will play the team's assistant coach.
The fifth season of "Pimp My Ride" will debut on Thursday, June 15 at 10 p.m
