D4L set a digital download sales record this week, moving 175,000 copies of their hit "Laffy Taffy," smashing the old record of 80,500 set by Kanye West's "Gold Digger" last September.
This marks the second week in a row the single finished No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart. It has sold a total of over 510,000 digital copies to date.
D4L's debut album, Down for Life, opened at No. 22 on the Billboard 200, on November 8. Since their founding in 2003, D4L, along with other notable acts such as Trap Squad and Dem Franchize Boyz, has introduced a new type of southern hip-hop called "snap" music.
