Pimp C, one-half of the Houston rap group UGK, walked out of a state prison in Huntsville a free man last week after receiving parole.Several folks were on hand outside the prison to greet the artist, where he spoke to well-wishers for about ten minutes.
The 32-year-old rapper was sentenced to jail in January 2002 when he fell behind on community service required after pleading no contest to aggravated assault. He was charged after brandishing a gun during an argument with a woman at a mall.
The rapper will be on parole until December 2009 and is looking forward to recording another album with his UGK partner Bun B. "The album is probably going to be one of the most anticipated projects in rap," Bun B told the Associated Press in regards to UGK's next project, which will be the first album featuring new music from the group since 2002. "I just think that as a group there's going to be a lot more things that we can take advantage of."
