Adele's '21' Has Sold 12 Million copies in 10 months

Adele's second album '21' has now passed a new milestone, selling over 12 million copies.

The London singer has now managed to shift over 12 million copies of her follow-up to '19' worldwide since its release in January.

21 managed to sell 245,000 units last week, taking it past the 12 million mark and making it the first album since 2002 to do so in just 10 months, reports Media Traffic.

'Set Fire To The Rain' has been confirmed as the third official single in the US to be taken from the album.

Adele is recovering well after her recent throat surgery as she becomes the first person to pass one million iTunes sales in Europe.

The singer underwent surgery earlier this month after suffering a vocal cord haemorrhage which threatened to end her career.

In a blog to fans, Adele reassured them that she was 'relaxed and well' after surgery: '"I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all.
