Wrestler files lawsuit against Jay-Z

Postby j_shady » Dec 4th, '05, 16:09

Diamond Dallas Page has filed a federal lawsuit against rapper Jay-Z alleging trademark infringement. Jay-Z is shown using the "Diamond Cutter" hand symbol on the cover art of some of his products including the CD "The Dynasty: Roc La Familia 2000" (which was released on Halloween in the year 2000) and the "Jay-Z - Fade To Black" DVD, which was released in April of 2005.

DDP started using the hand signal in 1996 when he was in WCW and has since used it professionally for his wrestling and entertainment ventures. The symbol appears on the cover of his new book "Yoga for Regular Guys" and it's something Page has branded as a symbol of the "Diamond Cutters" over the past few years. The hand symbol is kind of like a logo to him, hence the lawsuit.
