Russell Simmons' Hip-Hop Summit Youth Council is joining forces with actress Rosario Dawson to hold a hold an AIDS prevention forum at Queens, NY's York College tomorrow (January 24).
The event will include a health fair, food and beverages. The health fair will also feature free OraQuick HIV testing. The method takes a drop of blood from a finger pin prick and gets results in 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Dawson (SinCity, Men In Black II) will speak to students about AIDS prevention.
"With all the new technology and drugs we have today, there is no reason why our children continue to be devastated by the virus," Charles Fisher, the council's chairman, told the New York Daily News.
In addition to promoting AIDS prevention, HSAN recently protested the execution of Stanley "Tookie" Williams and New York's Rockefeller drug laws.
