ok well i don't know if this is a serious debate but it interests me and it is debateable....

what do u think people in commas think about?i mean r they like sleeping but can't wake up or do they just dift off to their own worlds???i mean can they actually hear people around them talking?
personally i don't know but maybe they actually can hear us and they're just fighting to come out of this.

ALSO
do u think that if a person who has been in coma for a while now like say 10 years, should doctors or family members lose hope and pull the plug???
i mean i've heard stories of people who've been in commas for like 20 years but they suddenly woke up but sometimes they're blind or have some sort of brain damage while others wake up completely normal....

Coma is Unconscioussness, Unconscious people usually dont experience anything.

As for ending life- im totally against killing a person who has a chance to survive, but witht the economic system in place one might just not be able to pay for 10 years of coma.

It's a hard question.. I don't know what they think about while being in comma, maybe they are just in another world like that guy in "Dad" (W.Wharton) or just don't experience anything..

It's the same problem as with euthanasia. We never know whether this person will wake up or will stay in comma for rest of his life.. I think we shouldn't let them die or help them to die, but try to do our best to make them come back to normal life.. Cause as you said, there were cases when people suddenly just woke up after 5 yrs of comma..

it's hard to say, but when you are in a coma, you can hear everything the people say to you, but you can't reacting on it.and when you are for many years in a coma, then you must ask the doctors if there is ever a change to come out of it and if they said no, then you pull out the electricity.and my personal opinion as a mother, when my kids where in acoma, i never pull out the electricity, because you allways hope that they coming back to the real life.but some comes out of a coma, and they lives like robots or plants and that's very hard to live with.

LMAO, i was wondering when somebody would pick up on that!!

Comma = ,
Coma = A state of deep, often prolonged unconsciousness, usually the result of injury, disease, or poison, in which an individual is incapable of sensing or responding to external stimuli and internal needs.

:p

I seen a documentary on a guy who was in a coma for 20 years (Longest ever period for someone to wake up, and regain the ability to talk) he was crippled and still at the mental state of the time of the accident. He could talk, but, couldn`t learn any new memories. He was talkin dirty to his daughter about sex. Was a bit disturbing. And if you ask me, his quality of life after awaking, was minimal to none. No one wakes up from a coma after ten years even perfectly normal. That shit you see in hollywood, is Drama!

Yeah, was completely NOT his fault, but, that doesn`t change the fact that he`s doing it. It seemed to be very hurtful to his daughter, they kep asking him who she was and he didn`t know. But, when they showed him a picture of her as a baby, he did. Was sad!

The fact that theres a chance the person will survive already has enough for me to not support ending life just like that.

YEah, me too. Unless they`re in the right mental health to make a decision on it, i disagree with pulling plugs too.

His family kept him and cared for him at home for 20 years. They didn`t give up on him and in the end the mother said she new he was gonna wake again. She kept talking to him and bringing him everywhere with the family, in wheelchairs, even though he was asleep. In the end she was right, and got to talk to her son again!!

at first i thought u were talking about a comma like ","(the spelling punctuation mark) and "i was like wtf is she talkin about?" but now i understand about coma's. the ppl are unconcious and dont think or hear or feel anything. and no, nobody should pull the plug anytime. i think its a disrespect to the family member saying "oh, we dont care about u anymore...just die"
