All this controversy just shows how big is Eminem in the music industry, today, and after 15 years of his best moment.

I think it's also worth pointing out that the quality of the shock lyrics is proportional to how much it's going to piss people off.

SSLP and MMLP, both containing brilliantly written shock lyrics, ended up being way more controversial than anything post-2009. Post-2009, it's only this cypher verse and a handful of other things that have gotten media attention.

Well, I guess it's the singles which first attract attention -- My Name Is, Guilty Concience, TRSS, COMC all first drew attention dig deeper into the album. All these singles had both novelty and shock lyrics going for them. And he "won".

But he can still get plenty of attention when he wants to, though he is no longer dominating pop-culture. LTWYL did it for Recovery because of the topic and Rihanna. For MMLP2 it was Rap God -- I believe he thought the attention would be directed to his technical superiority, but it brought attention for other things as well. For Relapse, 3am was more serial killer/horror movie rather than offensive and the other singles were Beautiful and CAB - so, not much attention. And now we have the Cxvpher which make pointed references to very current events and public figures. So, the media attention is following the same pattern as before. All he needs to do is go around doing interviews and making statements and perhaps he will be back at the center of things again. But he doesn't want to.

Here's the way i see it.

Eminem rapping about punching a woman in the face, people are cool with it, whatever right? ok now, let's say it was a black rapper, idk who's popular right now? uhh, it may work for Young Thug cuz i mean, nobody can tell what the fuck he's saying 90% of the time anyways, but, say it's somebody like Rick Ross, he already got alot of shit for rapping about puttin a roofi in a girls drink, which, was laughable compared to Eminem rapping about raping his own mother.

And then you have the Build a bear line, again, give that line to a black rapper such as Rick Ross, people are going to flip and say Rick Ross is a scum bag and it's gonna cost him alot of deals with whatever clothing lines he's with or whatever, but Eminem says it and he get's a pass?

Honestly i'm tired of seeing people stick up for Eminem and say it's ok for him to get away with the shit he gets away with but when other rappers say something alot less controversail it becomes a major news story and labels go ape shit crazy and canel shit and whatever, it aint right, yeah, Eminem is a future legend, the dude had alot of talent and put out a couple hot albums, but that shouldn't mean he can get away with more shit.

the stans on this site, as well as twitter, are beyond annoying, making it as if Eminem should have more privilages than other rappers, and be treated differently.

Nah if anyone came out and said this i would defend them. Though i would agree if someone like kayne west said it would be alot worse in media back lash but i dont think its because hes white its more just because eminem is in the spot light alot less now and keeps to him self. Where kanye and others not so much.
