I waited outside of the doors for a while after it was over and most people left and they were letting the battlers out 1 by 1 every 15 min or so. I just walked up to everyone as they came out. That's when I met Sway.

You didn't saw Slaughters? And I wonder what Lux or T have to say...

When I watched this I was feeling a lil' bit regret for Budden...
Same shit was with Canibus.
They just can't do shit like that. It's just not their space.

Not unless they figure out a way to get the crowd under control. It just got out of hand.

It wasn't nearly as weird to watch Budden for me because he rocked the crowd for the first 2 rounds. The third round was super awkward for both though. When Hollow started just yelling at budden everyone was like..."what the fuck is he doing??" lol

That was just emotions. :D
But that was strong shit anyway

Yes Budden fucked up in the third.

I think he took the other 2 rounds. people just want to see Joe get embarrassed.

Yo! To me, it's like this. The First Round goes to Joey, he murdered him, that making another bitch famous line, that lifetime in a moment bar, doing Hollow a favor line, laugh at my expense, many nice quotables right there.
The Second Round is pretty even if you ask me, but I gotta give the edge to Joe, for a guy who hasn't done this in a VERY long time, he did pretty well. The Third Round clearly goes to Hollow for that drop the mic, I'mma stop rapping bullshit and I got pretty annoyed with that stop my time shit. So in the end it's 2-1, Joey beats Hollow. That's what it is. I still feel like he shouldn't have done that stupid shit in the last round, that's why maybe he lost, the judges may have decided to give the 2nd round to Hollow for that BS. Either way, I was not impressed with Hollow's performance. Joey did real nice, I'd like to see a rematch where this battle is done right so a clear winner could be decided.

EDIT: If Joe went for three rounds like he did in the first, it would have been a 3-0.

Once a month? Nah man this event was bad, they need a year to fine tune it.

Nook 3-0'ed lux. Like murder.
Joe got booed and didn't have any delivery.
Hollow came soft.
Big t choked
Daylyt got in his boxers, pretended to shit and eat it.

Most annoying thing was Joe telling the fans to settle down let him rap... When there was one fan hahah

Nah dude it was so loud in there you could barely hear him say that. You can't tell from the video but the crowd was going crazy. It's weird how toned down they made it.

Hollow admitted in an interview that he didn't do as good of a job as he should have. He said he'd be lying if he acted like he bodied Joe. I'd post but I'm on my phone

So that means he's regert about some shit that he was talking to Budden, or nah?

I agree with this pretty much entirely. Joe looked like a bitch doing what he did in the 3rd but Hollow didn't impress me one bit. We knew he would talk about Slaughterhouse sales, Tahiry, Pump it up etc.

I wish Em would battle somebody next time they do this if they do.

StayWideAwake wrote:Hollow re-used a bar that Arsonal used earlier that night about JR Smith. He repeated so many lines because he was tripping up "you make light skinned niggas look bad...but that's not even why I'm mad" (x3). "Saying no to the shady show" bit (x2).

Nah, the repetition stuff isn't because he's tripping up. That kind of repetition is deliberate. Battlers constantly repeat themselves, quote their own lines from previous battles, and quote other battlers' lines...leaving little room for actual original material.

Almost every pun on that show (and most puns in rap/battling in general) have been done before. I can't count how many times I've heard most of the shit Hollow Da Don said before.

For example, Hollow Da Don said something like "shut this shit down, y'all should Fire Marshall." Exactly the same shit Eminem used on Seduction.

It's just odd that rap fans and rappers are still amazed by slight variations of the same wordplay we've heard for 10 years. How many times do we have to hear bars (rap lines) / bars (drinking venue)? Punches (rap punchlines) / punches (fists)? Clips (guns) / clips (video clips)? Topical references are really the only thing that give this any novelty anymore.

It's also amazing to me that people still focus on this "<Insert Rapper> bit <Insert Rapper>'s line" stuff, when most of the time it's two people coming up with the same bar independently, and they probably came up with the same bar because the bar wasn't that hard to come up with in the first place.

Why were the crowd booing Budden's last verse? Hollow Da Don stopping the time to tell Joe Budden in prose, "You ever beat a woman again I beat yo ass you faggot nigga." How did he think that would be a good idea?

By the way, Hollow Da Don's prediction that the battle will be rigged in Joe Budden's favour = "I have doubts about my material and I have a feeling I might lose this battle, so I better come up with an excuse so I don't look bad, because my ego is very fragile." Him and Arsonal are in the same boat...they're so egotistical they can't admit when they lost.

@staywideawake ...I heard them o the noise reduction, it was around 830. The crowd got real loud, and they reduced it a ton, good intentions, obviously done to hear the Bars better but still

@amadeo....I wonder if they actually did the stop the time, it seemed like that was just a angle....that'd be crazy, and bullshit if they actually paused the time

Much respect to Joe. Also, I much prefer his delivery to Hollow's. I can actually understand what he's saying which is important when you're actually saying things. Its a shame he couldn't do the third round properly.
