It's a great read, and it's pity gangsta rappers like 50 didn't use the power, wealth and influence they have for positive reasons. To show the next generation of wannabee gangsta rappers, that it's not the life to choose, and to help bring more options for kids with limited future prospects.

I`m all for Master P here, I can't remember what 50 said on BET that he's responding to, but it surely wasn't something positive.

50 talked about how art and particularly rap is a reflection of what the rapper sees and experiences. What he initially said was actually pretty philosophical and observant.

The way he mentioned Master P was completely unnecessary and disrespectful.

Master P has been in game for a long time and has seen many artists come and go and has seen rap devolve into a lot of club banging nonsense that's used to make a quick buck. Master P has changed and evolved as well in a positive direction but if you had asked him 5 or 10 years ago whether or not he was going to change his lyrics to something more positive his response would probably have been a lot different.

50 is simply in money making mode right now- that doesn't excuse what he said about Master P; it simply means he hasn't reached the point where he recognizes exactly how influential he is and can be in a political and social setting. Hopefully, he'll come back down to earth before he further alienates his fanbase and his peers.

^ yeh master P explains that, his first reaosn is he admits he was once a part of the problem, so im guessing hes tryna say to 50 that he has been there and that he knows its not the right way to go :sweating:

i respect his maturity. we need more people like master p. to admit their faults and grow the fuck up. he goes from makin' em say UHHHHHH!!!!! to makin fitty say..."uhhhhhhhh.....shit.....g-g-g..g-....g.....g...uhh...*shit how am i gonna defend this one*...."

2pac was a fuckin baller who gave back to his community lyrically and morally, even while he was fuckin ballin. thats why no one can say shit about him, and 50 will never reach the level of respect that 2pac had. sort of irrelevant but i just thought id throw that in there.

how is it pretty sad ? :confusion:

a guy admitting he was once the problem but isnt anymore, a guy openly saying everything that is wrong with rap right now

sorry, i just can't take this seriously. i started laughing when i read the headline :sweating:

if it was a pyblicity stunt he would do this and release a album about true hip hop, like KRS-One did...im pretty sure it aint a publicity stunt

and i also dont see why a guy cant change

Master P is a dipshit. I don't know who even listens to him.

Just because he's being forgotten, don't mean that all of the sudden light started shining out his ass.

I agree with the general message, but this is no news, rappers been preaching that gospel for years. Dear revrun Master P you are too late for ceremony.
