If all goes as expected 50 Cent will be behind bars soon, not for any crimes, but instead to portray a death row inmate for an upcoming film role.
According to Variety, 50 is currently in negotiations to play a death row inmate whose impending execution excites widespread interest in the forthcoming indie flick Spectacular Regret.
Spectacular Regret will call on Blair Witch Project actor Joshua Leonard to make his debut as a dramatic feature director. Danny Huston, John Ortiz and Kelli Garner are already attached to the project, which focuses on the interconnected lives of four Los Angeles residents who are each fighting to overcome their past.
Leonard, who previously co-directed the documentary Beautiful Losers also wrote Spectacular Regret.
The role is just the latest for 50, who announced the formation of his production company at this year's Sundance Film Festival. 50 is also slated to appear as a drug dealer in the upcoming Robert DeNiro film Righteous Kill.
