Nas Talks Detox, Grammys, Future Projects

Before his possible appearance at next week's Grammy Awards, Nas took a moment to speak with Billboard magazine about his future plans.

"I did a joint. I think it's crazy," Nas says of his potential contribution to Detox. "[Dr. Dre's] someone I'd love to do a whole album with one day. He's incredible. I think he's the best producer of all time."

The emcee who proclaimed himself as "the realest nigga on [Def Jam]" during his brief tenure, is also nominated for Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Solo Performance for Untitled and "N.i.*.*.e.r. (The Slave and the Master)" respectively.

"In all honestly, the fact that Hip Hop is even at that stage now, for a guy like Lil Wayne to even be nominated for the best album Grammy and me to be nominated, it's just a blessing," he says. "Whether I win or lose, I'm happy Hip Hop made it that far."

i hate how people are like, erasin history for lil wayne. he sold a mill n his first week with carter 3 and everybody blows the fuck up like "oh my god amilli a milli a milli!!!!" completely ignorin the fact eminem sold damn near 2 mill his first week wit marshall mathers lp.

i think they respect him cuz hes crossed over so much. from rap, r&b, now rock and all that other weird shit. n ppl get it cuz its wayne, n it makes him more successful. my 2 cents anyway, cant be cuz hes "best rapper alive"

exactly! wayne thinks way too much of himself already. i mean he is sick. well was the sickest when he first started but now hes goin downhill. seems like hes half assin it now. but yea, i hate how he says hes the best rapper alive like eminems not even alive anymore haha. cant wait for him to save hip hop and hopefully shut wayne up. wayne should just produce now - i think that would suite him better and hip hop
