lol it isnt dre doing it at all....you think dre runs the distrubution contracts for interscope ? Hell No
people really dont have any understanding of the structure for a record label, dre doesnt pull the shots when it comes to releasing albums, interscope bosses do and they dont govern just aftermath they govern probly thousands of labels, and then interscope dont even decide that coz universal are the people telling interscope when to release shit and universal own...well like a quarter of all record labels in the world..
and i mean before you get to that the way 80% of contracts work is that an artist gets money to go make a album (thats there advance) then if in a year and a half the artists comes back with what they say is a "finished" product the A&R's along with lots of other people have to pass the quality of the music and have to make sure that it has a hit single and that itll have a market audience ect. ect. once all that gets passed the label is then under contract to release the album within a certain amount of time (usually no longer than a year from what ive been taught)
so the reason why the shit aint getting released ? it aint finished, and the label isnt happy with the product the artist is giving them, it doesnt matter that stat quo's like "its done its finished im ready" blah blah blah, he just doesnt want to admit that his label are telling him he needs better quality songs and more of a buzz and hype.
the only time a label will rush release something is if the artist is off such a standard they know they have a multi million copies sol before they have even heard the cd, i mean we all know eminems next album will sell ridiculous amount of copies no matter the standard of the music on it.
dre does have a hand in if the product is ready to be released but as for release dates and stuff not getting released...he really doesnt have a say at all when it comes down to it
