Cold Wind Blows:
-Nice little intro, like the beat actually, flow is nice. Harsh but funny Elton John mention, terrible chorus, real bad. 2nd verse is fire, wow. a real good Eminem punchline? 3 in one verse? damn! flow in 3rd verse is bit choppy but it works, great lyrically, one or two bad punchlines. Overall decent track, but not much to it, cant see much playback ability but has a decent inner message.
Talkin 2 Myself:
-Not the kind of chorus I like but works well with the beat. Khalil did great with this beat. First verses flow is fantastic, the concept is executed brilliantly. Quite like Eminem's singing on the hook actaully. The honesty in this song is crazily good. This song has hit me as great straight away. Finally he criticises Encore (took his time!!), but the DJ Am shout-out was good. Not sure about all this Wayne ass kissing
On Fire:
-Automatically love this beat. Mr Porter? Fantastic. Em's voice sounds darker in this, like it. Flow is getting slighly repetivie. Very good hook... even though Em says its crap. Wow, some gret lines here. Says 'Denaun' so I assume its a Porter beat. "Wasting Punchlines"? - Not Afraid...? Above decent track.
Wont Back Down:
-I really like this, but Pink is wasted and doesnt seem like a album song at all. Few stupid punchlines, but some great ones - "introduce you to my power tools - you get the drill?". Another good khalil beat.
W.T.P.:
-Infectious hook, probably too catchy. Average lyrically, but like the hook, the verse is infectious. Second verse has a slight accent - I like that. better than first. Voice annoying on 3rd verse... he's changed it, this delivery is getting overused. "I dont need a tank top to be a wife beater", thats pretty funny. Not something I'll be listening to often but good.
Going Through Changes:
-Can straight away tells this is gunna be one honest song. First verse is brutally honest, love it. 2nd verse - proof line reminds me of that line in Deja Vu. Touching track so far. Em's singing has kinda broken up the mood, though - no need for it. The flow in the 3rd verse is the best verse of the album so far. End of the verse is fucking touching, wow. Lump in the throat. A 4th verse? Wow. Even more honesty but not as good lyrically as 3rd verse. This is a fuckin incredible track, its like a more honest, less corny and a million times better version of Beautiful.
Not Afraid:
-I've never liked this. Too cliche and some disgarceful punchlines.
Seduction:
-Annoying beat, sounds like some T-Pain shit. I assume this is boi-1da beat? Tinny drums make it worse. Verse starts.... nice nice concept, well executed, makes the beat better. Clever metaphor but is still obvious. Em's singing... stop it. Chrous sounds like a horrible Usher joint with Eminem on top. 2nd verse's flow is fire. I'm liking this. 3rd verse - concept continues a bit slowly, but gets going. This delivery is starting to get slightly annoying.
No Love:
-Beat starts of fucking nice. Wayne saying "Young Money" on an Eminem album was not a good start. Not a bad Wayne verse, but that voice and slow flow with the echo is irratating as fuck. Beat is fire. Chorus is bad. Em singing and Wayne speaking is bad combo. Like how Em switches up his flow. Is he really gunna keep this same delivery up? Whats with all these Kanye references? Apart from that it's a good verse. "Marsh/mellow" line was good. Outro is horrible and goes onto long. Okay track overall.
Space Bound:
-Poor early punchline, LOVE that Rakim reference. Not a fan of the beat. the uprising in tempo as the verse kicks on is a nice touch. Chorus sounds like a sample? It's pretty nice. Seriously, this delivery is really, really repetitive. Forgetable second verse. 3rd verse starts of well and sounds like Music Box but more "lovey". Em singing again, better this time. Not really a concept I enjoyed, the song was listenable but nothing special.
Cinderella Man:
-Intro sounds like some Til I Collapse shit, looking forward to this. Really has TIC feel, some great punchlines, some not-so-good ones. The 'Cinderalla Man' bit is pretty good, chorus not so. Choruses have all been dissapointing so far, bar one or two. 2nd verse starts of well, "rewound the future to the present, paused it, dont ask how" - i liked that. This bragging actaully sounds pretty damn good. Em pulls it off. "Who forms pyramids and ran circles round square lyricists - quality. Great song.
25 To Life:
-Nice clean chorus. Similar concept to Seduction? Delivered better so far. The honesty on this album really is incredible. Who is that doing the chorus? 2nd verse keeps the concept up well, I'm sure people will think its about Kim, but using Kim as the metaphor for hip-hop is delivered perfectly. Shouldnt have said "Fuck you hip-hop" - makes it too obvious then. Shits all over seduction. Great track.
So Bad:
-Definite Dre beat. Definitely been missing one of those so far.1st verse adopts a slight accent, which I like. Makes you forget about this incredibly repetitive delivery. Drops accent as soon as I type that.... Chorus is the best so far, love it. 2nd verse is interesting. But not that good. Horrible bridge, seems pointless and unneccesary. Em ups his game 3rd verse, goes very hard in fact. I dont really see the point of mentioning celebrities, though. Last year, everyone hated it, but if Em doesnt employ an accent when he does it, its fine, I guess *sighs*.
Almost Famous
-Been looking forward to this. Beat is fucking class. Is this a JB beat? It's quality. Like the hook. I'm gunna like this if the 1st verse is anything to go by. Em sounds hungry as well. Realy damn hungry - so much energy. "attack/a tac" punchline is great. Chrouses have slowly been improving. This is class. 2nd verse goes just as hard. Ending of this verse is crazy. Great bit of storytelling intertwined in the verse. Story continues, flow improves. The way he's putting the story in within random lines is fantastic. Best track so far.
Love The Way You Lie
-I dislike Rihanna, annoying start. Beat feels all weird on my ears, but isnt that bad. Okay this verse is alright, not that special, not memorable at all. Fuck off Rihanna.... Flow is wayyy better this verse, makes song more interesting. 'Window pain/pane' punchline was pretty corny. I thought I told you to fuck off, you big headed hoare... this song is slowly getting better. Improved dramatically in the 3rd verse. I'm not fucking suprised Chris Brown did what he did, christ, she's annoying.
You're Never Over
-Wow, chorus is weird as hell. "Yooooouuuuu" like he's 7 years old.The rest of it is okay though. Proof tribute, eh? Delivery is different, and this verse is pretty deep. Spelling "over" out lous? - he knows to show respect to Masta Ace whether it was intentional or not. Corny ending and the way he adds 'ly' on the end of each word reminds me of "Go To Sleep". Terrible bridge. Second verse is more memorable. Real touching, so honest and real. Lump in my throat. Some crazy rhyming at the end of this and despite it being corny the dream bit actaully sounded good.
Gun Go Off
-Just a crazy rhyming ending, I feel? Some nice lines here and there. "eskimo" line made me smile. Kurt Kobain bit was dope. This song is just rhyming for the sake of it, but cus that is the concept it works nicely for the end of the album. Ending reminded me of Business.
Overall, it's pretty good album. 7.5/10, I'd say. Punchlines are hit and miss. Chrouses are terrible early on, but the second half of the album is incredible. But that shouty delivery got too repetitive and I'm afraid that put it down a lot. The concept tracks were great and there was so much honesty throughout.
I still prefer Relapse, but this exceeded my expactations after the first 2 songs (Na & WBD)
