I named 3 & could go on with like 5-6 just on top of my head but I explained why I don't wanna do it in the post.

Wu-Tang Clan isn't from this decade even though their last release was in 2007...

I'd have to agree with Wu-Tang Clan being better than D12, btw.

Menzo wrote:I said groups today - Bad Meets Evil doesn't count because Em's in it as well as D12, and Slaughterhouse is seriously terrible.

Wu-Tang isn't from this decade lol.

@ T-Rex, I agree man. I love Young Zee and Pacewon and do feel like they have very complimentary styles that fit D12's criteria, probably why Em and Bizzy rolled with the Outsidaz way back when.

So Wu Tang come with a few albums since we've last heard about D12 on a retail & you say they're not from this decade? That was my point, even a group that was in its pinnacle in mid 90's has done way more & better than what D12 has done since their last album.

I didn't know BME wouldn't count & I definitely disagree SH is seriously terrible.
What about Clipse, Black Hippy, Three 6 Mafia? Tell me how those two mixtapes could touch G-Unit's T.O.S?

Since I mentioned Wu Tang & you said they're from another decade... what about even ones from previous decades than that. Even ''Naughty by nature'' & ''Public Enemy'' came with album/material that could easily stomp on those two mixtapes.

InsaneTRex94 wrote:Just speaking of other groups compared to D12, I thought that I'd bring up that I feel like the Outsidaz are the Newark version of D12. Very similar styles. I only enjoy listening to Young Zee and Pacewon regularly though, unlike D12, where I like each member's shit.

Fuck, if Young Zee wasn't from Newark, I would love him to join D12, he's been with Em & Bizarre for almost as long as D12 have been. He fits PERFECTLY with them. Actually, most Newark rappers I've heard sound like a lot of Detroit rappers I've heard.

Similarities yes, I agree but they can't be a version of D12 since their sound & status is way different. The Outz came along from 2 different cliques joining at first & then they were adding other members ass well. They were always street orientated cypher-like loose collective which is the big difference in between them & D12. I use to like their work & like Zee a lot too. Use to like Pace, he was even my fave one but since his attention whoring effects I don't care about him.

You make D12 out to be some super-group, it's really annoying. D12 were good, they were AVERAGE. Just because they go from making songs about owning pistols to discussing how education is bullshit doesn't make them versatile. Nearly EVERY rapper/group/duo has talked about different subjects.

Their "group dynamism?" That's only because they had Eminem there to remind them of the sweet paycheck they'd get in the mail after the album was done. Pushing them to work together and to make sure they were enjoying making the music so the listener would enjoy the music.

They're not really all that special, they're just a group of friends who grew up together and decided to rap together until one of the members became the most popular person on the planet and he decided to bring his crew along as well. Mediocre rappers meet one of the best rappers of all time, that's all they are/were.

I agree. D12 is miles ahead of whichever group I was defending.

Menzo wrote:Naughty By Nature are no competition seeing as they're basically out of the game.

All the groups you mention don't touch D12's versatility, group dynamism etc. Why the fuck am I discussing D12 vs. other groups in every damn section lmao.

Menzo I've never seen you that confused & unreasonable!

You talk about music TODAY, pointed it out actually... & groups not been in the game but ironically D12 has disbanded & only has 2 members TODAY & their last mixtape dropped 2 years ago! Not to mention their last retail album came in 2004!
D12 is less than mediocre if it's not about their full roster, esp. not having Eminem... & Proof of course. Don't get me wrong I am a die hard D12 fan...

That's funny man... like Wu Tang had that soundtrack album that was crazy in like November or something, just a few months back of TODAY! Seriously if you told Swifty & Kuniva they should publicly rate/compare their mixtape to that album, they'll swim through lake Michigan & will be hiding in Canada for months, homie. Only that song RZA & Ghost go back to back rapping will fucking murder the whole damn thing.

Naughty by Nature started in 1988 but if we speak about dynamism the album they dropped in 2011 will blast on D12 roster from the mixtape apart ''Fame''.

Again, I don't disregard any of D12's members individual skills, but they lack plenty as a group if they're not all of them, esp. in this case where they miss the more important ones.

And you're wrong if you think a group is good enough if them dudes have a lot versatility & dynamism as their main rep.
