I don't get it.. I mean the people who love this song say so because it's like classic Slim for the most part.. but it's nothing like that at all.

Classic Slim had REAL LIFE shit to talk about. About being broke and supporting a kid, wanting to kill Kim for various reasons, trying to get his career going, etc.. Mixing in occasional rape fantasies with humor (ie As The World Turns) That song has jokes in it.. Insane has random stabs at my brain.

Insane is garbage and has no nostalgic value for me either. To each his own, but I tend to think those who like this more even than just other Relapse tracks, let alone old Eminem tracks, should keep that to themselves.. Lmao.

^ True, but As The World Turns was completely made up too, so what's the difference? Classic Slim had real life shit to talk about sometimes, and current Slim does too sometimes.

I personally like the beat, it's so dynamic to me. I always think it's funny when he imitates his mother's voice. I like the way he switches up his voice for each character in the song. And I love his voice at the beginning of the third verse. I never heard him sound like that before.

But at the same time, I can't compare SSLP & Relapse. It's just too different worlds. I could never like anything post-TES more than anything from SSLP through TES. Those three albums will never be topped to me. But I do like Insane. Is it nostalgic to me? Not really. But I just like the song.

This song is not shocking, it's the persons of story who are. And I think that Eminem speaks about his brother in the song, not of him.
