When I first posted I was expecting you to just post back and say that you just preferred 25 To Life and knew that Hollywood was the better song. Then a bunch of other people posted and we started arguing, then you said that you actually think the writing on 25 is better. Here we are.

You can prefer the whole package of a song but know that another song is technically better.

Like, Seduction is probably the only song I listen to on Recovery now. Is Going Through Changes the better song? Yes. But I love Seduction for completely subjective reasons.

It just sounds lazy. It reminds me of how, post-comeback, sometimes he drops the beat at the end of a verse to prevent him from running really far off of it, or in other cases he speeds up really fast at the end. In SGH's case, it's the same without the beat completely dropping. It just sounds really awkward and doesn't flow as good as the rest of the song imo.

It's also the last line of the song, so I wish he could have reworded it a little better and still ended it with "forced us to live alienated", but the first half seems to drag on.

not sure how or why i never saw/posted in this thread but...say goodbye hollywood has been for a decade now my favorite song of all time and obv my favorite em song of all time.

it reminds me of the shawshank redemtion, it's not well known but it seems to be everyone's favorite, which always blows my mind cause I always think (with the song and the movie) i never expected so many others to love this that much.
