Relapse does have more complex rhyme schemes; and it is funnier and slightly wittier too.

The more I listen to Recovery the closer I think it is to a classic. Tracks that I didn't like are hardcore growing on me. A LOT of replay value for me.

Yes.
Recovery is a great album. The music is changing year by year.
Just think how different was Pac's All Eyez on Me(1996) from Rakim's Paid in Full(1987).Nas'Stillmatic(2001) from ' Illmatic (1994).The music is changing. But good works are always good works.
Recovery is a fantastic work.Different from SSLP,MMLP,TES but this doesn't mean that it's not a classic album.
Recovery is Em's 4th Classic album.

Relapse is much better anyway, but i doubt either will go down as his best or most classic works. He was so huge in the begining those albums will always hold more relevance in music's culture than anything he does now, whether the music is better now or then is a different story.

Disagree totally with your opinion on Relapse, havent listened to that album in forever

But your other point is spot on, his breakthrough and the media circus that surrounded it will always make that music more relevant in a historical perspective, nothing he could do now would ever be more relevant then the impact his first 2 albums had, quality of music has nothing to do with it

Eh, for 2010 standards, HELL YEAH it's a classic. It's not quite an actual classic, but it is very good. Recovery is one of his most important albums, so...in my personal opinion I guess I would call it a classic, but saying this makes me feel a little...biased, because it's Eminem and I like pretty much every album from him (I like a little more than half of Encore)

If he would have taken "W.T.P.", "So Bad", and "Wont Back Down" and put them on a Recovery: Refill type album, it would be a classic. But those songs interrupt the story trying to be told.

For me an album is a classic when it excells at every area. Production, lyrics, etc.

Recovery's production is sub par
Recovery's subjet matter was to inconsistent for it to be a strength.
And there were more then a few mess ups with the word play.

This being said Recovery is an excellent album.
