Ok I'm on the train to home atm so I might as well type up a cool story bro.
This thread concerns a review about the album as well as a couple of songs.
Enjoy.
The Slim Shady EP was a album made at the peak of Marshall's anger and frustration with the world.
After his first album flopped in 1996, he became very pessimistic with trying to be positive and fun in his songs.
It reached a point where Marshall just didn't give a fuck anymore.
As soon as Marshall stopped giving a fuck, Slim Shady was born.
A vile, woman hating and evil side of Marshall which emerged from Marshall's mirror late one night which was portrayed in the album cover.
The mirror broke and Slim Shady joined bodies with Marshall and the chaos and turmoil began.
A more musical introduction follows the epic merging of Slim Shady into Marshall's body.
'Low Down, Dirty' was the explosion of his alter ego onto a humble beat with gruesome and dark sarcastic lyrics with many themes that concern rhyme biting and clever metaphors that puts Slim Shady into his role of that evil piece of shit that rapes old ladies and takes pills.
The lyrical raping starts with the underground friendly single 'Just Don't Give A Fuck.'
The Slim Shady persona was unleashed with a barrage of racial slurs and stabs at gays and lesbians.
It was a brutal reminder of this dude's anger and lyrical prowess which cannot be denied whether you loved him or hated him also of his underground roots and the display of no remorse to what is said on wax.
Many other songs would also shock and amaze people.
Including 'Just The Two Of Us' which was a terrifying and dark insight of the volatile household Marshall lived in with continuous domestic violence and anger.
It portrays the murdering of his wife Kim Mathers with her body in the boot of Marshall's car.
Other songs must be pointed out including 'No One's Iller' And 'Murder Murder.'
'Murder Murder' apparently portrays Marshall fleeing the police after a sting of felons and then being shot and surrendering to police.
While 'No One's Iller' shows off the lyrical skills from a few of Marshall's buddies including Bizarre, Fuzz Scoota and Swifty.
'If I Had' shows the struggle Marshall was enduring within his dead end jobs and continuous poverty inside his home including being so poor he has to take bottles back to the store and having garbage bags full of cloths.
Once Slim Shady was introduced to the world he caught the eyes of many label chiefs.
One in particular was Jimmy Iovine who wanted a copy of The Slim Shady EP on tape to listen.
This happened as soon as Marshall won 2nd place in the Rap Olympics.
A organized show by The Rap Coalition founded by Wendy Day who listened to a tape version of the EP and was soo blown away that she turned her car around from where she was heading.
In summary The Slim Shady EP was a important record in Eminem's career and defiantly the reason we have the highest selling rap artist of all time living amongst us.
I would not give it a higher rating then The Marshall Mathers LP obviously.
Please share your thought's and rate this album with me.
