I have a few more small points but I don't think they're pertinent, just thought I'd share my take on XV. Which is arguably my favorite Em work to date, I know most of you hate the rapid fire flows and shit but you need to understand there's really nowhere else for him to take it at this point, and there's a handful of other artists who have found themselves in the same position, making them very inaccessible to newer fans of the genre. He's just showing he can keep his head above water with today's elites, and I think it was directed towards them and their fans as opposed to the mainstream crowd.

Hmmm...just want to understand what you were saying. Are you saying that these artists have come so far in terms of skill, that their newer fans will find it tough? Or newer fans of hip-hop? (Seems like the latter)

Also, isn't Snow tha Product still a new-ish artist?

Hmmm...just want to understand what you were saying. Are you saying that these artists have come so far in terms of skill, that their newer fans will find it tough? Or newer fans of hip-hop? (Seems like the latter)

newer fans of the genre, and i wouldn't say skill per se so much as they've just done so much on a mic that they have to resort to very nontraditional styles if they want to continue to remain original. but unfortunately straying too far from the norm isn't appreciated by the majority of listeners.

Also, isn't Snow tha Product still a new-ish artist?

she's just now getting recognition but her discography is very lengthy going back to 98.

neither of you have heard a tech album, nor are you aware of what he's done for the genre. independent rap was nonexistent before tech n9ne, he's paved the way for more artists than any other rapper i can think of. and that aside how you gonna say he's "so overrated" on a forum with only like 3 tech fans?
