He's always been obsessed with rhyming as many words as possible...Recovery is no different.

Recovery certainly had rhyming, but I'd say it's the first time (aside from Encore) where he sounded quite clunky at times. Parts of Space Bound, 25 to Life, Talkin' 2 Myself just sound very awkward and non-rhythmic.

On Topic: I think it's probably my favorite Em style, just because of how unique and strange it is. The dude just said fuck it and started trying to come up with the most elaborate, absurd rhymes in the most extreme way he could. The dude rhymed "Carmen Electra's cuter" with "vomit on Freddy Kreuger." The Relapse sessions must have been the most fun, liberating process for Em.

rhyming when almost any song has free subject matter and you can use an accent to bend any word AND use sounds like 'ah' to extend every other line

Not that impressive imo only on certainn occasions

Yes. What made Eminem blow up in 1999-2002? Witty lyrics, unique flow, good use of instrumentals, personal / emotional songs, and he was innovative and fresh. No one commented on America's society in the way he did. Relapse was somewhat innovative too. Conceptual horrorcore album mixed with personal songs. And don't tell me that that album doesn't sound fresh nowadays.

It's Prime Em. Too bad he fucked up right after that.

If Eminem made more songs like My Mom and Deja Vu on Relapse, the album could have been a classic.

Agreed, to some extent.

I was just using Deja Vu to really drive home the point of how great it is.

Seriously, this album had the potential to be better than one of his first 3 but he decided to fuck around with serial killer shit. I liked those songs, but still...

Making the album with a serial killer theme wouldn't fuck up the album at all, it would elevate it.

Its just that it was poorly executed, it had all the elements to be a classic, but its missing something; not sure what it is, but there's just a piece of puzzle that's not there.

Its definetly not prime Em.

Yeah, a lot of songs were poorly executed imo. Deja Vu is probably prime eminem imo.
