You're telling me that there was never an artist or album or song that you understood was good or had talent, but you just couldn't get into it?

If I can't get into a great album then I probably don't think it's a great album in the first place, otherwise I'd be into it. People don't have to be objectively correct in their music taste ("objectively", lol) but that's obviously what we're all striving for. We all have reasons for liking and disliking things and to us we like the things that are good, so if you like x you're probably saying it's good and if you don't like y but somehow say "oya but its a great album even tho icant get into it" then you're probably saying that it's actually not a great album...

This is pretty much what I'm saying. It's really not even a big deal it was a simple question that people obviously understood the intentions of.

Class you said War Ready is like a 9/10 song to you. From a musical and lyrical standpoint I think that song is a train wreck of incomprehensible noise and lazy bars. I might say NY State of Mind is a 9/10 song to me. But if I just asked you for a favorite song, then I can't take that from you. There's no need to talk about who has the shittier opinion or to examine which one is better because we're just being asked for favorites. That is all. It's not a big deal. At that level it's just simply different taste.

No…how are you so bad at understanding what people are saying? I'm not saying anything about your music taste and music being all just opinions supports what I'm saying. There's no objective list of best music, your favorites should be what you think is the best. If your favorites aren't what you think is best then you're admitting that you prefer something of lesser quality to something of higher quality…so you're saying your music taste sucks.

SWA, one big hint. Lose the bitterness and desire to prove these guys wrong, and it will become more easy to have a discussion and get to the bottom of this.

Solace, agree with most of what you're saying. My point was looking at other genres--where, not liking hip hop doesn't necessarily mean "shit taste", unless we want to delve into that discussion (but this point may well extend to within genres, so kinda relevant).

Also, shit being too harsh a word (unless people are liking Recovery or some shit), could be a potential reason for the automatic "no, you're wrong" from SWA and Menzo.

A favorite thing isn't always a statement about it's superiority over everything else. There could be a million reasons why an album clicks or appeals to you more than another.
