and you're greatly underestimating Wayne's popularity. he's not the best rapper out there or anything, but he still has a massive fanbase and can get played on the radio without having Rihanna on his songs. that's not a slight against Em, it's just the truth. Eminem clearly has a shitload of fans as well, but he's not as popular in the mainstream these days. Berzerk got a bit of play and disappeared quickly, The Monster was very successful, and I heard the other singles on the radio maybe one time each. Wayne's still all over the radio, the Internet, and ... everywhere, really. he dropped some poorly received projects recently, but let's not forget how huge the first week sales were for Tha Carter IV, which was only two and a half years ago. Eminem did well with MMLP2, but don't pretend Wayne's irrelevant.

"and you're greatly underestimating Wayne's popularity"

I am not by any means lol .. Wayne is big as fuck, I ain't denying that.

"but he still has a massive fanbase and can get played on the radio without having Rihanna on his songs"

This is some bullshit to be honest. Em has a way bigger fanbase than Wayne at the moment. His albums, except the carter ones, haven't been selling 'really' good which proves that his 'core' fanbase isn't as big as people make it out to be.

The Rihanna comment is also stupid considering that Belive Me's chart performance is really poor and Em has had hits like Not Afraid and Berzerk in recent memory that both charted well, and also got a shitload of radio play without any help from Rihanna lol

"Eminem clearly has a shitload of fans as well, but he's not as popular in the mainstream these days."

Wrong again. Em had the highest selling album of the year, selling more than Drake, Kanye and so on ..

Just because he doesn't release song after song after song does that mean he ain't as popular in the maisntream like some of the names I've mentioned ? Em selling 3milli just proves how big he really is. No denying in that.

"Wayne's still all over the radio, the Internet, and ... everywhere, really."

do you really want me to check the radio plays ? FFS, Belive Me is not being played on hot97 or power 105 anymore. What are you talking about. Believe Me has slightly improved on the billboard charts yet it's still not even in the top20 after 5 weeks of being on itunes and a few months since it's release ..

If you'd follow other forums you'd know that Em is still the most polarizing figure in hip hop, whether it's bait/hate threads/comments or other shit, he's still everywhere. Even after he dropped his album. Even after all the hype basically died down. He's still the msot talked about individual in hip hop culture. Wayne has his hype atm, it will fade away again. Like it always does.

They play the radio at my work and I hear Believe Me at least twice a day but I can't remember the last time I heard an Eminem song :kanyeshrug:

Eminem ain't getting much radio play on urban radio stations, that's true. He gets more radio play on regular stations that play all sorts of music than Wayne though.

TCV will sell good, but the first single basically flopped though.

Eminem is insanely popular, his music isn't as radio friendly as Lil Wayne's, but radio might be the only thing Wayne has on him.....and let's be honest, who the fuck listens to the radio these days? lol

Isn't Eminem the most streamed artist on spotify? Don't his old albums STILL sell thousands of copies on a weekly basis?

Take the L breh.

that's a fair point about spotify. it has become an increasingly popular method of music consumption, and i hadn't taken that into consideration. i would accept my L, but supershade already took all the Ls with his last post.

Ouch

yeah, i'm done talking to a seven year old who can't accept other people's musical opinions and tells random internet people to kill themselves for not suckling at eminem's teat enough. i'm not a fan of the foes list option, but i'm going to exercise it here because any further time spent reading this lad's posts would be an unfortunate waste of my time. to put it in perspective, i've never considered putting kkaniff or brainless on my foes list.

I'm 6 and a half.

At the very least this needs to be better than his last 2 albums. Though I feel like it's weird he hasn't even finished on album and he's already working on the next one.
