Freddie Gibbs - best story telling thus far on any album this year.
Piñata seems to take the cake for AOTY so far.

I tried to listen to Sage Francis' but got bored, and in the same instance then enjoyed listening to a YG song.
Whose a better rapper arguably? Sage.
But whose music isn't as boring? YG.

I enjoyed Strangeulation, twas filled with some bangers.

I'd like to think T.I's album will be great, but his last album was so disappointing. And No Mercy was only alright. But still, he's a mainstream rapper with great albums in his discography. So, I'm always going to have some hype and anticipation.

I get what you're saying, though. Last year was a big year for big name rappers and this year hasn't been. I've only bought three albums this year in general, and none of them are mainstream.

I guess I'm looking forward to Twista's album... if it actually comes out. I can't help being a Twista stan even if he hasn't been the same since The Day After. Just... a few great songs and a bunch of meh. But that's how it is being a fan of someone past their prime, I guess.

Also looking forward to Kendrick and Wayne.

how did you get "mainstream is automatically bad" from my post? that's the definition of presumptuous given that I posted it on a god damn eminem forum. i'm a fan of a lot of mainstream cats but the other 90% of them couldn't rap their way through a wet napkin. how is this even arguable?
