Both sides taking a Ls really.

The Heist is a good album, that was well received when it came out, and it wouldn't look out of place on that list in the slightest.

But all the albums (at least, the one's I've heard of) on that list were good albums, and a lot of people have listened to the majority of them, and a lot of them have a good claim at being better than The Heist.

Yes, I enjoy The Heist, but there are better hip-hop albums out there.

Macklemore is a rather interesting artist overall, and he has the sales to back it up. I don't not feel like the gay rights agenda he had makes him lose any integrity, because it was just his beliefs and anyone with half a brain should learn to respect them; although, the media has been in a uproar about the whole thing. In the eyes of hip-hop heads, he's nothing unique, but he has left a everlasting impression on the business as a whole, and that alone is enough to be proud of.

GKMC > Heist. 2 Best albums of 2012 IMO though.

The Heist was beautifully written and produced. It's commercially appealing. I can only listen to Kendrick around other hip hop heads. I can play The Heist around anyone.

If you have listened to The Heist and think it''s a pop album then you clearly don't understand music genres.

Exactly. Both are dope albums. It's a losing fight to keep arguing the pop v. Hip hop thing. I know it's obviously different and Eminem is a superior Emcee by far but people thought he was a gimmick when SSLP dropped. Just how it goes.
