Saddest Hip Hop Songs of All Time

Postby DAngeloBailey » Sep 5th, '13, 03:12

What are some of the saddest/most moving rap songs ever?

My vote goes to Make My by The Roots (everything about it - the melody, the lyrics, the whole theme of regret and passing away - is really sad to me) and Dear Mama by Pac (my mother passed away 3 years ago and I can't listen to that song anymore without crying).

So, question is... What (in your opinion) are some of the saddest hip hop songs of all time?

List away...
Somebody dropped me on my head and I'm for sure
That my mother did it but the bitch won't admit it was her
I slit her stomach open with a scalpel when she was six months
And said "I'M READY NOW BITCH!! AIN'T YOU FEELIN THESE KICKS CUNT?!

Eyedea & Abilities - By The Throat

It really moves me and the first time I heard it I was hit pretty hard. It also holds some major sentimental value to me.

aside from what's been mentioned (these are probably more humane than sad, fuck it) :

Joe Budden - Whatever It Takes
J Cole - Lost Ones
2pac - Krazy
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
