I was gonna write a code here in PHP to show how they pulled out the unique words in an attempt at being funny, but then I realized that I don't remember much, so... fail.

Well the author is a programmer, so he no doubt wrote a custom script or application for the job.

I'm actually working with similar techniques right now @ Uni. It's called Text Mining.

My guess is that they first used "web crawlers" to download the lyrics for each artist from Rapgenius, then pre-processed the text, and then finally used a set() function + count() function to first acquire the unique words and the count them.
