Lil wayne was just so unique and had that it factor that Kendrick & Andre had (very few other rappers I can think of have it). Drake for as good as he can be (and trust me I don't hate him or even find him mediocre) just blends in with all the j coles, wales, and cudis out there

He definitely isn't for everyone, but if you can straight listen to Carter II, Dedication II, and Da Drought III and still find him to be meh than I don't know what to say. He lowkey had the creativity and bizarreness that Ghostface or even kool keith had with his ramblings, and can get HIGHLY descriptive while bein minimalist as fuck. His ability to switch up deliveries in just about every song in DD3 was insane or hell having a bunch of different ones in one song like Upgrade U is kendrick lamar to the max. Frankly I don't see how someone can love kendrick and not like lil wayne tbh. Even down to the meh lines that lil wayne did, kendrick also adopted.

that's takin it a bit far tho, lol. He immediately fell off once he got super big and made some dismal albums.

I'm only talking about 2004-2008, not many rappers would drop quality mixtapes & albums & more than 100 impressive guest verses in only 3-4 years.

At that time wayne was dropping nothing but fire

I will say he had an unrivaled hook game (Duffle Bag Boy, Make it Run, My Life) and yeah that's what I meant. I don't put as much stock in killing guest verses or even mixtapes to be frank but yeah 2004-2008 wayne was great. I still think The Roots had the best run in hip hop to bad their last album was a pile of poop.
