^Agreed. He was never amazing as a lyricist. The only thing he had going for him back in The Carter 1 to 3 days was his flow. He knew how to ride a beat pretty well. I honestly don't get how he blew up and fooled the masses that he was the best rapper alive. Even now, when he just talks on a beat with absolutely no form of rhythm, people still consider him the greatest to ever touch a mic . I have no shred of hatred towards the guy, because he hasn't done anything but make music even though most Lil Wayne 'haters' think that's a crime in itself. It's his followers that need to be ridiculed and face palmed like no tommorow,however.

Prime weezy is fantastic and one of the best rappers during his 05-08 run, and personally I'd argue top 5. He never put out a flawless shimmering masterpiece but some of the highs on his mix tapes/albums are pretty unassailable and some of the highest peaks a rapper can reach. & of course he was insanely prolific, new weezy is pretty walk but he's just chill idk how to explain it but Id wayyyy rather listen to IANAHB 2 earthier than nastradmus, kingdome come, encore, & than you shoot your cousin because of how self serious those albums were while bein steaming turds. Plus how can anyone hate bitches love me

This song is just so chill, lol. I dun curr that he keeps spitting out dick punchlines I don't find them rly cringey because of his sort of self awareness. He's obviously just having fun and giggling to himself while recording this this rly isn't that faroff from those dreadful No Limit covers like Big Bear that were obviously so tongue in cheek. I mean I wouldn't defend this album as a whole but compared to all those albums I named minus Encore there's just something that pisses me off ridiculously about them, cause they think they're hot shit with all they're pseudo machismo posturing (especially in Nastradamus) where they think they're hot shit but rly just a joke. I guess I just hate kingdome come cause of how laaazy it is. & don't even get me started on that roots album which was beyond lazy & portentious where they think that they're making art but hired singers that sounded straight off bandcamp & had sampling lazier than diddy in it. *rant end*

All I said about weezy being a top tier rapper in his prime still stands and the only rappers I'd comfortably place ahead of him in that period are black thought & slug but not even BT had the insane amount of material he had. It's not just matierla he put out but how ubiquitous he was in every guest spot and killing hook left and right (make it rain, duffle bag boy, etc). Hell even his collabs with juelz & his like father like son mixtape/album had some stellar shit. He just had bad quality control, lol

I agree while him being self aware and having fun is great and all it really doesn't excuse the laziness of it, lol. I kinda stopped listening to Lil Wayne post Tha Carta III so all his bullshit projects like Rebirth and all that fazed by me and I'm really not up to date with him anymore. Hell I listened to one song off Dedication 5 and it felt like my ears were being waterboarded, so unless Tha Carta V is some return to form where he pulls the ultimate resurrection of his career I don't really think this'll be that great. & Wayne is pretty much the mixtape artist (having 2 mixtapes arguably better than his best album).

I still find nastradamus more offensive with how he pretty much jumped on the diddy bandwagon and how completely un self-aware nas was while he was burying his career. If you want something really awful than listen to Jealous Ones Still Envy 2 that's the epitome of terrible rap, soulless schlock mass produced with joe selling the fuck out. Hell I even listened to that terrible mims album which sounds like a lazy af jay z album so I know what terrible is and what mediocre is.
