I feel like when Em was still in the Relapse stages, he was still in his "Shady" form. He wasn't punchline-happy, spitting shitty metaphors, he was still all about telling a story. He could have given us a great album if he didn't go the Recovery route (which is still a good album), but I'm sure we would have gotten something a lot better if he had just stayed true to the Relapse roots.

If Em didn't even put it out, it's not worth it. Even stuff from 2000-2002. It's probably not that great or we woulda heard it somehow (Stimulate, The Kids)

I like this interview. It's a good one. I can't wait 'til he's back on the scene promoting his next album again.

I might have to disagree. Some of the material on Refill was better than that from Relapse. I think with the amount of tracks Em had, he had to ensure he had a certain type of track to fit on the album (a few emotional ones, good album openers, story telling ones, conceptual ones etc) in order to make the album more varied. My Darling should definitely have opened Relapse IMO.

Indeed, take No Apologies. The verses were there in 2002, so it could have made TES but instead Eminem had to salavage it to fit on the Re-Up. With this in mind, there must be a lot of material at least from that period which could potentially be of a similar quality.

Indeed, in the background of 'The Kiss [SKIT]' we can hear an actual track version of the 'Everybody's Looking at Me' freestyle he had performed (lights, action, cameras flashing...)
I would love to hear the full track.

I honestly think Em will have a lot of material he just never uses, even if it's verses or tracks like Demon Inside.

Yeah I hear you. I remember talking about this subject on these boards before.

Geno, how would you feel if you were an artist and after you died people released work you may not have been happy with or didn't want the public to hear? For instance, i'd happily listen to some more excellent Eminem diss records, or tracks about Kim (I remember him saying he has killed her at least 11 times, and this was in an early interview) but as good as these works could be, he may never want people to hear them. The same is true with the track he made about Ronnie: his family never allowed him to release it.

I'm on the fence about this one. I, like you, don't want to hear any more tracks like GOAT (although the hook is catchy as fuck!) or Balling' Uncontrollably (please shoot me, I actually find parts of this track almost hypnotic...) BUT i do think he does have a lot of work which is of a high calibre (like the pieces I have talked about above) but for whatever reasons he just can't release it or doens't want to (perhaps because he might upset someone like Kim, or doesn't want other rappers to know he attempted to diss them).

Indeed, remember his line in No Apologies? "This song isn't for you it's for me, a true MC, it's what I do just to see if he still has it, and if his skills mastered, he's able to spill raps long after he's killed that's a...
Real MC..."
Like 2pac, I recon he does have a number of tracks he could release to satisfy his fans (although obviously we don't know how good these could be).

Em probably has a list of tracks he wants released it he dies, and a list of stuff he doesn't want out, ever.
