Personally, I thought The Roots' album was far better than Recovery but I'm not crying about it because they didn't win Best Rap Album - as long as I like it, why should I give a shit they didn't get a little trophy?

If you think Recovery is album of the year, then that's fine. Doesn't mean every person has to. What does an award prove?! Whether Em wins it or not, you still think it's good, so why does it matter what some random judges think?

Awards mean shit all. Anyone getting upset about them is stupid.

Eminem was the focus of the Grammys. If they didn't make it seem like Em was gonna win big, then no one here really does have a right to bitch about it. There were A LOT of "WTFs?!". They had no reason to not give it to Em, I just don't understand it. It was arguably the biggest album of 2010, Recovery should have gotten AOTY. Everyone thought he was gonna get it, and it was honestly a bummer. But oh well, this doesn't really change much

Just adds to how unimportant it is, really. Rap always gets a hard time at award shows - nothing has really changed. The best albums rarely win the best awards (obviously, you have one or two exceptions), it's usually just the biggest.

On this occasion, the biggest didn't win - they probably wanted to look more unbiased as you say. I find it weird people are acting like awards show's being a farce are new or something.

They used Em to promote the fucking Grammys, with that commercial. Everyone was expecting him to win, even haters figured Em was winning. I saw it all over Facebook. And then I saw a bunch of "WTFs?!". So Royce definitely isn't alone

Arcade Fire won Best Album Of The Year but did NOT win Best Alternative Music Album Of The Year. That's just retarded.
