New Beat

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Jul 5th, '07, 22:29

ok, i finally got time to chill after 2 hectic as hell weeks, so i started practicing on the beats again

http://www.zshare.net/audio/2579748d43b74f/ < Version 1

this is the Drum pattern and (lets just call it) the bass line, i did this and saved it and then went away for 10 minutes n came back and worked on it some more, but i wanne show both just so ya'll can see what was added after the basics (my level of basics lol) and tell me witch was a good addition/bad addition

http://www.zshare.net/audio/25798259c3e197/ < Version 2

i added 3 things, the obe, whistle and mellow guitar , all trying out new things

oh yeah, the drum pattern, cymball, bell and bass line, are mixed , the obe, whistle and guitar arent mixed, coz i wanted to see opinions on the volume of the stuff before i mess aorund some more and then mix it lol

feed is appreciated :y:

pretty good man. the drum pattern is straight, so thats good. the melody was ok. it doesnt "wow" me but it works :sweating: . you had some good additions from version one to two, but the "bell" thing sounds a lil weird. and there was one sound (not sure wut it was) that was panned to the left... that one could prolly be turned up a bit :y: .

overall, good job :flower:
keep it up

the drum pattern was ok...but when it was "kick-kick-snare" the time before the first kick was kinda... empty. But other than that it was good.

the bell on being on the first snare instead of the second one was kinda weird. The guitar was pretty good. And the horn type thing was to..."hard". It didnt really fit with the softer melody.

Overall, nice work. keep at it

im not sure wut it was :sweating:
i know it wasn't the shaker, but it was on the left side. maybe it was the whistle, it didnt really sound like one but it could have been. i couldn't really tell cuz the volume for it was too low :sweating:
the sound comes in at around 10 seconds, if that helps.

i didn't like the sounds themselves, the actual instruments you picked, but it was nicely planned, wasn't too repetitive or atleast to me it wasn't

drums were nice, not too complicated but they did their purpose

but the mixing wasn't the best.. but can't say much since i can't mix well either...

drum pattern is good :y: the main melody is ok too... but about your additions, that little guitar "panned" at the left... don't know if you read it when I talked about soundfonts and .wav sounds in another thread a few weeks ago... but I was saying that wav files aren't necessarily C notes, so this means if you press the C on the Sampler keyboard, it might not be a real C... and in your beat, the notes that the guitar is playing doesn't really fit with your melody... at least to me it sounded like that :sweating: and it's hard to adjust it, cause you don't know what note that guitar wav really is... that's why I highly suggest using soundfonts :y: 99% of them are well created and when you press C, it really is a C and not anything else lol... so it's easier to use and it gives better results most of the time

and the other additions were ok :y:

keep it up

wasnt bad, gettin better. I agree what mart said about the wavs how theyre not always on C and that can sometimes ruin a beat, but it didnt quite ruin yours. soundfonts and vst are best to use for composing so u can keep itin the scale your working with. other than that the addons were ok, just keep practincing with it and ull be much better. Good Work man keep it up :) :y:
