6 new beats

Postby IceAxe » Mar 2nd, '08, 02:04

It's been months since I lost posted something. I've been working, just never got around to posting anything. All these are at least a month old, some older.

http://www.myspace.com/iceaxeproductions

Breakdown:

46
- Has a spacey kind of feel, built around assorted synth leads and ambient chords. My personal favorite of out of these.

45
- not even sure how to describe it really, just a generic kind of beat.

44
- my first proper attempt at sampling. The strings came from a piece of classical music I found somewhere. In the bass there's a note like an octave higher than the rest I just noticed.

43
- same vein as 46, built around a lot of synths... has one of the best basslines I've done imo

40
- Designed around a guitar loop I got from somewhere. overall volume swallows hard I know. I'd fix it, but I keep putting it off for some reason.

39 - jazzy kind of beat, very minimal.

feed appreciated :y:

39. i like it, it gotz the old shcool feeling.. drums are nice as well, pretty cool beat, not my style, but i could see big ax-d rapping on this

40. i like the drums and that guitar sample or w/e it is, makes it sound nice and the choir AHH or something is also really nice but i suggest a few change ups here and there

43. i like the bass line, but IMO it doesn't fit wtih synths, i could it being a groovy type beat with that bassline.. i'm not a fan of synth, so i'm a bit biased but i'm not feelin it too much..

44. drums are sick, sample needs more, it could work but first it's a bit off beat and it would need some additional things

45. it's unique haha, it gets a bit repetitive, also drums need to be louder... but overall this is one of the most unique beats i've heard... strings that come in are cool, scratches i liked lol

46. drums are nice, the synths like i said, i'm not fond of synths in general so i'd again be biased, so i don't like it...

46 - it's a bit too wierd for me. doesn't really sound like a beat to me, more like background music in a movie or playin in the beginning or end credits. not sure if that's good or bad :sweating:

45 - it was pretty good, except the small strange sound that resembled somebody scratchin one of those designs that change with you look at it from a different angle. also there was a couple melodies i felt were too loud. but its its not to bad overall

44 - the melody pattern was great. very epic sounding. but i think the quality of the sound for it coulda been better, or cleaner. at one point the melody gets to be too loud. but the drums were good also, fit the beat well.

43 - pretty good. better than the ones i listed previously. i don't really have any complaints. kinda quirky but unique.

40 - the best one. i like this one very much. i can see somebody rappin to it. the drum pattern was nice, and fitting. the melody patterns were nice, they seemed short which is actually nice cuz then you don't have that long strew of melodies that get old quick.

39 - this is just about at good as 40, if not as good. i think wut made the beat was the brass. it gave it an aged, antique feel and would make for an interesting song if used by somebody.

overall they're not too bad. i'd have to say your beats are.... different and very un-typical (prolly not a word). not really sure how to describe them. good job tho :y:

don't got time to full review each beat but all i can say is you've improved and i think others can now use your beats..few more months you'll be making cash if you focus harder on making beats :)

like I said to Hadez, I'm a bit late, but it's better than nothing :p

don't have much time to feed all of them in details, but

46: real cool spacey/background music, the only thing that needs work is the mix, overall it could a bit cleaner/crispier... but I like that kind of beat :y:

I listened to the others and they're all pretty good, they have good melodies, and nice drums, but mixing is the thing you should try to work on :y:

keep it up :8)

46- Reminds me of floating in space but for me is a bit too weird for my liking though i think the beat is good

45- I find it hard to describe this as its so unusual

44- Like the sampled beat idea, but its doesn't seem 100% clear to me, but i like it

43- Really, like it, feels slightly darker than your others

40- Like the simplicity of it and the guitar, but i dont like the "Aah" thats on the end of the guitar

39- reall jazzy number but didnt like the sax at the beginning at the end, much like the aahs just think it needs to be altered with a lil

well thats wot i think anyway
