well i gave up on trying to make a "rap" beat since none of mine end up as one but more like just something interesting and unique to listen to. so here's what i was workin on for a day or two

yea they're pretty unique... i liked that one, it was pretty sick, i just felt your drums quite didn't fit the beat... but keep it up!

Nice beat man, I liked the melodies, especially the "oboe" (?) melody (well, the wind instrument)... again I would say the sound quality/mixing would need work, but I know you don't care too much about that

btw hadez, i feel you on that "rap style" beats, i think most of my beats aren't rap type of beats either and i've felt like i should change my way of doing things to get more hip hop into it but then again if i do that then i'll probably end up sounding like the 1000000 other producers out there...

that's why i love marts' beats, he uses rock instruments and creates complex yet catchy melodies...

thanks man. it's a flute, well it should be anyway. that's what the soundfont said it was

yea the mixing needs work. really all i did was just some small panning work, a little bit of "stereo enhancing" or w.e. basically just enough to get the job done. one of these days i'll take the time to mix properly

@ Tash: glad it's not just me. i think what causes them to be abtract for rap beats is trying to make something different from the rest. so it ends up not being typical, which is what the aim is (for me at least) but yet it seems too far away from the general idea.
