Problems with mixing

Postby B.A.D. » Jan 15th, '09, 22:25

I am having big problems with mixing and mastering tracks

the quality doesn't sound as good as it should be, and I don't have a pop filter so I can't get rid of some pops

can someone help??

u can't really remove pops man, what i usually do to remove them is ask people for two acapellas of the same version and i overlay it on the pop and then on the other acapella where the pop occurs i remove everything below 500hz but that doesn't necessarily sound good, but it's better than a pop.

send me the raw pella, i can see what i can do..

to remove each pop, provoding there not all bunched together, zoom in and catch the peake of it, normalize it to -50 or somewere there's about and the effect of the pop isnt heard and you can still hear the pronouncation of the word

the pop would still be there though, if you blast your speakers, u'd hear it... the only time u wouldn't notice it really is when your using headphones on a low volume.

thanks a lot, I found another easier way to avoid them haha, by puttin the mic below of where it was it so When I pronounce words that pop the air of my mouth won't hit the mic

also, This is the new efects list I am using to mix, can anyone give opinions of if its good, bad etc... (I tried to addecuate to my voice)

hiss reduction
dynamics/ ax-c de-esser (preset I made)
Normalize to 75% (cuz I got a deep voice)
salvdor reverb (a preset that restlesswon gave me)
FFT filter / mastering heavy & Wide
Graphic EQ / Spit Clear
dynamics/ limitsoft at -18 with boost
