Finaly got my m-box!!!!!

we thought we were only getting mini m-box's but the college pulled som strings and got us all M-Box 2's

so i finally got pro tools witch is fucking awesome coz thats what i use in college and i have a good understanding of how it works so now i finally got it at home i can start puting theory into practice

also my own quality is gonni be even better coz recording in rpo tools is alot better than my current set up

aint installed it yet, imma wait till i read all the instructions then get round to it


im fucking excited lmao cant wait to finally get it on the computer and start getting into it

m-box is a interface that allows audio to go in and out of pro tools, without it pro tools wont work, its the trick pro tools creators used to stop people hacking it lol witch is why its even more awesome, i mean pro tools is the same thing Jin uses to record his albums so thats just a small example of how dope this program is

and yeah, I'm not surprised your quality is better, the quality of the preamp makes a huge difference altho I never used an mbox so I don't know, but judging from your reaction, they seem great lol

can you still record in Cool Edit with your mbox? or it only records in Pro Tools?

if it records in Cool Edit too, could you make some tests and compare a recording made in CE and a recording made in PT? I'm curious to see if Pro Tools makes a difference, or if the difference comes from the mbox itself

yeh, the college got us it for free, coz well, 70% of our course is on pro tools so if we dont have pro tools at home we are at a dis-advantage, the music department use that as an excuse to get a bigger budget to buy them for us lol

and yeh the quality is alot better, although i havent rapped properly but its defiantly a big improvement because i dont have that hiss i used to have.

and sorry man i cant make the comparison when i installed pro tools and went to open it, it shut down straight away, and i think it was because my computer had to much on it (ram is the space i think programs use when running) so i un-installed cool edit and acid pro (and also alot of other stuff i didnt need) because i wont be using them anymore so sorry about that man

yeh mines i exactly like that, except the bottom bit that hangs down is if you are puting it in a rack, so i dont have that, i have a smaller version that just hooks over my computer table a little bit

ok that's cool no problem I was curious to know cause in a lot of articles I read, it always said that it didn't matter what software you used, what matters is the equipment you have, and how you mix... but yet, a lot of people say that Pro Tools is awesome and gets you better sound quality, so I'm curious to know who's right lol for the test to work tho, it would need to be similar recordings (same bit depth and stuff etc...) I'm not an expert at that, but like 44,100 kHz and 16-bits (for example) etc... cause it would be unfair to compare an mp3 recording with a wav recording
