I'm Back (3 New Beats)

Postby Ethos » Jul 14th, '07, 05:34

Okay I haven't dropped any new productions lately. And well that's pretty much cuz I've been experimenting. And plus I haven't had the time. Anyways... If no one has noticed in most of the beats I've posted here, i had never put bass in them. So I had to experience baselines. And since I don't want it to seem like I died in production i thought I'd drop 3 Beat snippets or whatever. They all are experimenting new things with the bass. so leave me feed and tips on wat I can do please.

Beat 36

(First time practicing with Basslines. thought the beat was pretty good and simple for now. will work on more later.)

Beat 37
http://www.zshare.net/audio/26825731acc5a4/

(Using a new bassline and using the clean strat soundfont. I believe this is better that Beat 36)

Beat 38
http://www.zshare.net/audio/268254677390f9/

(I just recently did this one today. the chorus part is all screwed up cuz I haven't though of a good chorus part yet. But the bassline I love so much in this one.)

Beat 36 - the pizzicato type sounds didn't really go well imo... maybe a lower pitched one or something would work better. The bassline was pretty good... better than my first time tryin one Good work over all :y:

Beat 37 - yeah it's much better than 36. I like the melody in it. Baseline fit pretty well. Good work again :y:

Beat 38 - The bassline here was cool... better than the others imo... wasn't really feelin the kicks though... they sounded hollow or somethin. If you add on to the chorus part (at least I think it's the chorus) usin that same string it could sound pretty sick.

Good job, keep it up

DC4952 wrote:Beat 36 - nice drums and it started well... the pizz didn't bother me that much, but the strings didn't go really well with the rest of the melodies I thought, there something out of tune in there :sweating:

Beat 37 - this one is cool, I thought the drums could hit a little more tho, or the guitar could be turned down a bit... but good job so far on this one :y:

Beat 38 - Nice bass in this one... like you said, the chorus isn't perfect, I think the second string note didn't fit by the way, but you'll probably try to think of something to add... and I think you should change the kick like Ice said... but it's a cool beat so far, good job :y:

keep it up!
