Beat From College

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Nov 28th, '07, 11:13

this shitty beat has been like 7 weeks in the making

j/k its been about 3 classes (5 hours) i worked on this, it passed the class for me so thats a plus :y: although all you had to do was prove you can use the program, the musical side of it doesnt matter unless its really really bad :sweating:

anywae have a listen, i havent heard it on speakers since the computers in here dont have speakers its all through head phones, so no doubt the mastering and mixing suck and the volume is to low :sweating: lmao

probably the best production wise i have done though...although that isnt to hard a standard to beat lmao

was made on reason btw

Hey i actually like it even though the mixing isn't done right. I guarantee though if you reworked it right you'd get something good. cuz now it sounds more of a skeleton version of the beat. so it's definitely not perfect for a song yet. :smoking:

the sounds themsleves were bad lol

the melody wasn't too bad it just needed to be "resound"

drums are fine they're just too loud.

if you could fix that kick, it would sound a lot better to me :y: your kick sounds panned... with a regular hard hitting kick, the drum pattern would sound great

the instruments were good... tash and syanied talked about the sounds and the mixing that needed work, but I'm not sure.. I would have to hear it to judge... cause to be honest, I think it's not bad like that (except for the kick... yeah I know I'm annoying with that kick lol)... I thought the sounds used fit the melodies well, and since the drums were loud, it made it sound more like a smooth hip hop beat... the sounds aren't outstanding, but they work as background sounds IMO... just needs some vocals to make it sound fuller :y:

the beats ok i dont like the kick sound uve used but there arent many good kicks on reason i usually use 'brick' for the majority of my beats, theres nothing wrong with it musically tho i can imagine dizzee rascal usin this for an intro or outro. with time and practice ull get better. which reason do u use 3 or 4??

we use 3, i been tyring to download 4 since ive had a go on a guy form colleges laptop and it looks better, i also been looking for a download of any version of reason so i can practice it at home coz i got a understanding now of how the program works i just need to use it more, i also got a book the college supplied that explain the ins and outs of reason so if i had the program i woudl be able to work on stuff and home and get a proper feel for everything and download better sounds, coz the red rum hip hop kicks :n: the abstract kit's are what i usually use  :sweating: and thx for the feed man :y:

also before i coment i should have mentioned i had never touched (or tried anything) on reason before i went to that class, i had donwloaded and opened it once but it scared the shit out me lol, so i could say i never used it till ten weeks ago but that sounds like i had ages on it, i only get 2 hours a week actually working on reason, and most the time of that (bout an hour to a hour 15 minutes) the lectrurer is showing us how to do stuff and explaining everything, so it slike 45 minutes a week and then you wait a full week so when you got back to the beat you have different ideas and it aint ideal :sweating:

yeh not being able to hear it through speakers was bad when it came to mixing, but good aswell coz atleast ive learnt how to mix and master on reason lol :p thx for the feed man :y:

yeh i was using defualt sounds from reason...they suck lol, and i was tyring for a hip hop beat were the drums carry it and the melody and everyhting is very much in the background, obviously i didnt do it to well lol but i tried :sweating: thx for the feed man :y:
