ey. im finally in the position where i wanna devote some cash to some studio quality recording equipment i got like a 1500 dollar budget for this and i already got a good idea of what i want like the Akai Mpk49 for beat production and cakewalk and such, just tryna get my penniesworth ya nknow? ne help is appreciated thanks much

Forget cakewalk..any program on that level will be just as good (Adobe Audition) and you can get them free, if your gonna spend money get protools..

With 1500, Id say put at least half of that into your mic..and a quarter of it into your interface..

So..
750 on a mic
375 on a recording interface

Then the other 375 on headphones, cables and some sound proofing

you can donload cool edit or A.A. for free and they work pretti fine, In my opinion... excelent

Yeh Im still using AA 1.5 even though 4.0 is out..for home recording its just fine..I have Pro Tools 7.2 but that shit takes up so much process space its insane, you need at least 5GB of ram to run it properly..I have 5GB but my disk only runs at 5400rpm and its needs 7200rpm I think..
